Cansaulim Beach, Goa Overview

Part of India's second longest beach stretch, the quiet Cansaulim Beach is a beautiful little stretch of golden sands and palm groves. Along with the adjoining Arossim Beach, it acts as an extension of the massive Velsao beach stretch. This idyllic little beach is a hotbed for watersports, and is considered one of the best beaches in Goa for watersports. Visitors can also engage in lessons and training for the same at this site.

For the more relaxed tourists, this beach is perfect for lounging around on the sand, having a picnic, sunbathing, and taking lone peaceful walks by the ocean. Children can be seen splashing around the water and making sand castles, enjoying the bliss of this beach. Those looking to indulge in a bit of culture on their vacation can head to St. Thomas Church, a gorgeous testament to the Portuguese influence on the local architecture. The legendary Three Kings Church is close to this beach, situated atop the Hill of Remedios. The annual feast of the church, organised for nine days starting from the 6th of January, is a grand and festive affair that sees a great level of enthusiasm and participation from the locals as they rejoice. The Three Kings Church is also a lovely location for one to have a panoramic view of the massive coastline of Goa.

  • Rail: The closest railway station is the Madgaon Railway Junction. The Cansaulim Railway Station only receives travellers from the passenger train that connects the state.

  • Road: There are direct buses from Panaji and Madgaon to Cansaulim. Those looking to arrive through private transport may take the turn near the Velsao Railway Underbridge on the MDR43, and take the immediate turn onto the Cansaulim Beach Road from here.
