June to September is a great time to visit Amarnath because the famous Amarnath Yatra begins any time from June to September, coinciding with the holy month of Shravana. Pilgrims from all over the country visit it in huge numbers to attend this. Remember to wear comfortable woollen clothes while you trek to Amarnath. Trekking becomes difficult during this time as the mountains surrounding the cave are covered in snow completely. Also, unseasonal blizzards in late August has previously caused damage to the lives of many tourists. It is advisable to not travel to Amarnath during winters due to the extreme cold. Trekking at this time will lead to significant discomfort.
