Vaishno Devi Yatra is open throughout the year for pilgrims and tourists. However, the best time to visit Vaishno Devi is from March to October. The weather is comfortable during these months, and nature is at its best during the monsoon.
The original Holy Cave of Vaishno Devi is open during the winters and is mystical to experience. However, from November to February, Vaishno Devi witnesses sub-zero temperature. So, until you're physically fit and a snow enthusiast, winter season is not recommended for a visit.
The festivals of Sharad (Autumn), the period of Chaitra (Spring) and the festival of Navratras and New Year witness peak rush. Visit during this time only if you do not mind waiting 15-20 hours for the darshan.
