Skydiving in San Diego – A thrilling experience you will never forget!

The Pacific Coast or the West Coast offers some of the most breath-taking views and sights, making skydiving in San Diego one of the best experiences in the world. The coast has beautiful beaches, parks and monuments you must visit. Another truly memorable experience would be to view the West Coast in all glory, from approximately 13,000 feet up in the air. Tandem sky-diving is an adventurous and adrenaline pumped activity that you could go for. You must experience free-falling from an airplane as you gaze at the stunning views that the West Coast has to offer.

Here are our favourite spots for skydiving in San Diego: 

1. Pacific Coast Skydiving

This is the only skydiving center which offers scenic flights over waters before the jump. From the airport, they take you over Imperial Beach, Coronado Bridge, Coronado Island and Downtown San Diego. You will be attached to an experienced skydiving instructor while you free fall at 120 miles per hour. Your parachute ride lasts about 5-7 minutes.

2. Skydive San Diego

Experience Sky-diving from 13,000 feet above the ground! A freefall of approximately 1 min followed by 5-6 minutes of parachute flight over Southern Cali’s mesmerizing scenes of the Pacific Ocean and Baja California. They also have a flight school where you can learn or even brush up on your sky-diving skills.

3. iFLY – San Diego Mission Valley

iFly is a place where they offer a unique and thrilling indoor skydiving experience, making it a truly unique experience where skydiving in San Diego is concerned. The instructors will guide you through the entire process. You need to be 6 to 70 years old for the VR experience and for the normal skydiving experience, you need to be over 100 years old and under 300 pounds. The whole process will take you about 2 hours. They also host birthday parties, company events and even buyouts for private events.

4. Skydive Elsinore

Situated between San Diego and Los Angeles, Skydive Elsinore offers stunning views of Lake Elsinore, the coast and San Diego. The services they provide are Tandem Skydiving and an accelerated freefall course.

5. Go Jump Oceanside

Situated between Los Angeles and San Diego, GoJump offers a stunning experience while skydiving in San Diego. They host skydiving birthdays, engagements and bachelor parties. The views of the coast and the city are breathtaking and it’s something you will never forget!

Some tips and rules for Skydiving in San Diego:

1. Don’t consume any alcohol the night before you plan to go skydiving.
2. Always stay hydrated throughout the process
3. Make sure you book your appointment before-hand.
4. Wear comfortable clothing like lace-up athletic shoes, shorts, long pants or T-shirts. If it is chilly, wear something that’ll keep you warm.
5. You need to be above the age of 18 to participate.
6. The maximum weight allowed is 230 lbs. or 104 kgs. Some places may allow exceptions so do contact them and enquire.  

It doesn't matter whether you’re an adrenaline junkie or someone afraid of heights, skydiving in San Diego is something you must experience at least once in your life and you won't regret it. If you do fall in love with it, you can enrol into a skydiving school where you can even train to become an instructor!
