Q. What is the nature of the high altitude sickness at the sela pass and is there a cure or preventive medicine for the same? I have had a heart bypass surgery. I also suffer from Vertigo. I am 78 years of age. What is the lenght of the Road at sela pass at altitude between 10,000 feet and 13,700 feet which one has to travel for reaching Tawang from Bhalukpong? if one keeps sitting in a Vechile and does not come out in the open at sela pass, will the altitude sickness still be there ? Will Carrying of Oxygen Cylinder help? Is it required or is it possible to hire a paramedic at Bhalukpong or Bomdila to accompany on the trip to Tawang via Sela Pass ? Are the available ?
