Bhalukpong can be explored in 1-2 days. On the first day, you can leave early in the morning for Bomdila which is 100 km from Bhalukpong. Spend the entire day at Bomdila and soak in its beauty. Don't forget to visit the bamboo craft centre in Bomdila. You'll need an entire day for Bomdila.

On the second day, you can start by visiting the Pankhui Wildlife Sanctuary. Go there early so that you don't miss the early morning safari. It is 23 km from the city. While coming back you can visit the Orchid Reserves and the Bhalukpong fort. In the evening don't forget visit the local market and try some local cuisine.

What's Great?

It has dense lush green forests and has immense scenic beauty. People come here for fish angling and river rafting. Residents of Bhalukpong are very warm and welcoming and know how to speak Hindi and English.

What's Not So Great?

It is difficult to reach Bhalukpong. There are no direct flights or trains to Bhalukpong. The food and water can also prove to be an issue for some people.

Bhalukpong is a very beautiful place. It can be an ideal destination for families. Corporate and working people can come here on tours for adventure activities like trekking, river rafting and fish angling. It is also an ideal spot for artists as they can work here peacefully and also get influenced by the rich and beautiful culture. It is an ideal destination for anybody and everybody who wants to explore the unexplored Arunachal Pradesh. 

How To Reach Bhalukpong

The nearest airport, as well as railway station, are at Tezpur. Cabs and busses ply periodically up and down to Bhalukpong. However, many prefer to drive down to the charming city. The road goes via NH 37 which is in excellent condition. The drive is an exciting one by itself as the road passes by the famous Kaziranga National Park.

- Carry bottled water if possible. Do not indulge in un-hygenic food. Arunachal Pradesh is one of the safest states in India and people generally don't indulge in vices here. People are very friendly here and most of them understand Hindi and English.
