Karapuzha Dam, Wayanad Overview
Karapuzha Dam is one of the largest earth dams in India, built across the Karapuzha River in Wayanad district, Kerala, standing 28 meters tall along a length of 625 meters, with water up to about 158 feet deep. It's a popular spot for boating and is known for attracting birds, thanks to the vegetation around it. There are landscaped gardens for picnics and a small children's park on site. There's no entry fee; the dam is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is best visited during the day, since visibility drops at dawn.
