Pallikunnu Church, Wayanad Overview

Pallikkunnu Church, also known as 'Our Lady of Lourdes,' is a well-known pilgrimage site in north Kerala, about 19 km from Kalpetta. This Latin Catholic church was founded by Fr. Jefreno in 1908 and is an important religious centre for Christians in the region. Its main festival runs for about 16 days, from February 2 to February 19, with the 10th and 11th days considered the most significant; people travel from across Kerala for the celebration. The church is also notable for having some rituals and practices that parallel those seen at Hindu temples. The best time to visit is during the February festival. There's no entry fee, and the church is open from 7 AM to 7 PM.
