MINT Museum Of Toys, Singapore Overview

The Moment of Imagination and Nostalgia with Toys – or MINT – Museum of Toys is a museum that showcases a private collection of vintage toys from all around the world. Located near City Hall at Seah Street, the MINT Museum houses a vast collection of over 50,000 toys from around the world, some of them more than a hundred and fifty years old. Considered the largest toy collection in all of Southeast Asia, the MINT Museum of Toys is ideal for both children and adults, offering them both imagination and nostalgia.

First opened in 2005 from the private collection of an eminent Singaporean toys enthusiast, the MINT Museum has five levels of impressive toy and doll collections. The quirky glass façade of the building has made it an iconic landmark, and the rooftop restaurant adds to the appeal. With a total collection valued at a whopping SGD 5 million and a delightful store selling traditional vintage gaming boards, the MINT Museum of Toys is a childhood wonderland indeed.

Basement: Enamel Sign Gallery
The Enamel Sign Gallery is a treasure trove of antique advertisement panels from the late 1800s to the 1950s. In this half of the exhibit, patrons can view more than 70 enamel signs, including the Aquascutum fashion advertisement. The basement also houses a themed restaurant.

Level 2: Collectables
A toy collector’s dream, this level stores vintage toys from more than 40  countries around the world – including Victorian dolls, exotic Asian playthings and many more. With paraphernalia from Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation and official Beatles merchandise from the 1960s, this level explores how toys played an important role in making memories.

Level 3: Childhood Favourites 
Go back in time at this level that showcases the most popular and sold out toys from each era – right from Elizabethan dolls, German dollhouses, the original Mickey Mouse, Betty Boop, Felix the Cat, Snow White, and the largest collection of Steiff teddy bears.

Level 4: Characters 
This action-figure level is a dream come true for comic lovers. Featuring toys and figures of popular superheroes and protagonists like Astroboy, Popeye, Batman, Tintin, Ultraman, and Heman, ‘Characters’ promises to be a haven for kids and parents alike.

Level 5: Outerspace 
This otherworldly collection at MINT Museum of Toys houses space-themed toys right from the early twentieth century to modern times. With miniature Japanese robots – including Hook Robot, the first-ever toy robot - model space ships, alien worlds, and Star Wars action figures, Outerspace is sure to take patrons on an adventure!

Rooftop: Enamel Sign Gallery 
This half of the Enamel Sign Gallery houses food and beverage signs from the early twentieth century – watch out for the famous Campbell Soup sign among the many artefacts! A rooftop restaurant is open to patrons.

Guided Tour

Visitors can opt for a guided tour while booking tickets at the checkout menu. An exclusive docent is available to take visitors around the MINT Museum of Toys and provide insider information about the different exhibits.

The museum offers a complimentary introductory tour every Wednesday at 3:30 PM, that covers the history and basic layout of the building. While this is free, visitors are expected to register beforehand on the museum website.

Mr Punch Public House

Inspired by the popular show Punch & Judy, the Mr Punch Public House is a rooftop gastropub at the MINT Museum of Toys. Quaintly decorated with antique posters and vintage memorabilia that reminds visitors of a cosy European café, the restaurant serves a range of Italian, British, and American delicacies. The modern vintage cocktails – especially the jalapeño-infused Bloody Mary – are a must-try. The basement pub serves a variety of domestic and international beers, while the rooftop views of City Hall are stunning!
