With its glistening gold dome, Sheikh Mohamed bin Khalifa mosque in Victoria cuts an imposing dome over the Seychellian skyline. The mosque serves the country's minority Islamic community. The mosque currently has the capacity to hold around 600 male and female worshippers and is busiest during Friday prayers.

First constructed in 1982, the Sheikh Mohamed bin Khalifa Mosque was the first mosque in the country. It was renovated in 2013 and is tucked just off Francis Rachel Street. The mosque also plays host to forums that speak on religious harmony and cultural integration. Tucked away from the main city, the beautiful building also makes for a pleasant visit.
