Ghandruk village

Ghandruk is a traditional Gurung village in the Annapurna region, about 32 km northwest of Pokhara, sitting at 2,012 metres. It is one of the most visited stops on the Annapurna Base Camp and Annapurna Circuit treks, and also serves as an access point toward Poon Hill. The stone-paved village offers clear views of Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre, Gangapurna and Hiunchuli. Its Gurung Cultural Museum showcases the traditions, dress and history of the local Gurung community, making it a stop for both trekkers and day visitors.

Ghandruk (also spelled Ghandrung) is a Gurung ethnic village in Kaski District, part of Annapurna Rural Municipality, with a population of over 5,300. Perched at 2,012 metres, it is one of the most established gateways into the Annapurna region, lying directly on the Annapurna Base Camp and Annapurna Circuit trekking routes and offering an approach toward Poon Hill. Visitors get sweeping views of Annapurna South (7,219 m), Machhapuchhre (6,993 m), Gangapurna (7,455 m) and Hiunchuli (6,411 m) from the village itself. The Gurung Cultural Museum documents local Gurung heritage, dress and history, and the village's stone houses and terraced fields reflect a lifestyle shaped by both farming and mountaineering-tourism income.
