Bonobo, Mumbai Overview

Bonobo- Bar, Love, Food is located in Bandra and is spread over 2,800 square feet. It comprises of an indoor (bar) and an outdoor (dining) area. The minimally lit outdoor area is the dining area where customers can enjoy a gourmet dining experience under the Mumbai skyline. The indoor area is the enclosed air-conditioned lounge area- India’s first interactive bar experience where one can groove to the beats of the professional DJ. The decor is in shades of jungle colours and it successfully manages to create a jungle-like ambience without being tacky. The tables of Bonobo are topped with umbrellas and the roof is lined with flowing fabric and candelabra-style lights. The walls are painted with birds, greenery, and dragonflies. The decor makes it easy to imagine yourself at a far off tropical location.

Bonobo gains its popularity because of its ambience and the roof-top bar offering diverse drinking options for affordable prices. There is even live music from time to time and various events are held during the course of the week. Monday night is usually cheap drinks night wherein the drinks start from ₹ 99. Thursday night is Old School Bar Night where the DJ plays retro music. Live music is usually on Wednesdays. On Fridays, there’s usually live electronic music acts. In addition, there are daily happy hours from 6 pm to 9 pm where one can buy one drink and get one free.

Menu

Bonobo’s cocktail menu is loaded with delectable ingredients and is divided into Legend Cocktails and Classic Cocktails. Some of the highlights include Espresso Martini (with freshly brewed espresso coffee), Wasabi-infused cocktails, Passion Fruit and Curry Leaf cocktail, and Watermelon and Lychee. Besides cocktails, Bonobo also offers popular classics such as Long Island Iced Tea, Margarita, Sangria, and Cosmopolitans. These are available in huge pitchers that cost around ₹ 1,480 each. Each cocktail is available for around ₹ 450 each.

The food menu is diverse in itself - it is divided extensively into gourmet meals and extensive bar snacks. The chefs have put together with exquisite bar snacks such as - baked brie with poached pears, lemon-pepper shrimp with burnt garlic aioli, and chilled stuffed balsamic mushrooms. The dining menu presents the chef’s take on a cuisine that is more eurocentric with famous dishes such as - spaghetti carbonara, Pepper Prawns, wild mushroom-saffron risotto, Pan Seared Rawas in garlic butter with tomato-smoked paprika risotto and Mediterranean Grilled Chicken with dijon mash, thyme mushrooms and chicken jus. The desserts are equally delectable and some of the specials include Mango Cheese Cake and Apple Tart. For two people, a full meal here would cost around ₹ 1,800.

How To Reach Bonobo Bar Mumbai

Bonobo is located just behind KFC, on the 2nd Floor of Kenilworth Mall on Linking Road, Bandra. The closest railway station to Bonobo is Bandra Railway Station. From there, one can take a rickshaw to Kenilworth Mall. Buses are also quite frequent from Bandra station. The closest bus station to Bonobo is Pali Naka. It's open from 6 p.m. until 1.30 a.m.
