Feira do Carmo, Macau Overview

Feira do Carmo is an open sheltered public square situated right near Rua do Cunha. The architecture exhibits the neoclassical style that was popular in Macau in the 19th century. One can witness the splendor of its architecture in the exquisite Greco-Roman pillars, the traditional Chinese roofing, and the Portuguese style cobblestones.

The flower and wine covered seating area is a pleasure for sore legs after the hectic exploration of all the attractions that Taipa has to offer. Visitors can sit and relax in the square whilst admiring its grandeur and magnificence. Feira do Carmo was built in 1886 as a simple market place, and hence, it is also known as Old Taipa Market.
