Reimeikan, Kagoshima Overview
The prefectural history museum, built on the site of Tsurumaru Castle with its moat and stone walls still standing outside, covering Kagoshima from prehistory to the present. 430 yen. One trap to note: it closes on Mondays and also on the 25th of each month, which catches a lot of people. The Saigo Takamori statue is a short walk away.
