Terukuni Shrine, Kagoshima Overview
A shrine to Shimazu Nariakira, the lord who industrialised Satsuma, standing under a large white torii at the foot of Shiroyama. It is free and central, and it is the natural starting point for the walk up to the observatory and across to Reimeikan, which is why it earns a place over the city's several other small shrines.
