Day Trip to Chiran, Kagoshima Overview
A 700 metre street of samurai residences with seven Edo gardens behind their stone walls, the best preserved such district in Kyushu, and separately the Peace Museum for the kamikaze pilots who flew from the airfield here. The 530 yen ticket covers all seven gardens; the museum is a separate ticket 2 km away. The bus runs every one to two hours, so this is a full day rather than a half.
