The beautiful and intriguing Kek Lok Tong Cave Temple is located at Gunung Rapat in Ipoh. Also known as Kek Look Tong, the temple is set amidst huge limestone caves consisting of a number of metal Buddhist and Taoist statues. Another highlight is the award-winning landscape gardens inside the cave.
Established as a permanent place for religious activities in the 1970s, the Kek Lok Tong Cave Temple is spread over 12 acres of land, comprising a central altar with a number of Buddhist figures and deities of the Chinese pantheon. Translated as the ‘Cave of Ultimate Bliss’, it seems to bring a feeling of well-being to the locals, regarding it as their favourite cave temple among many of the Ipoh’s cave temples.
