Czech Centre Museum Houston, Houston Overview

The Czech Center Museum Houston, also known as the Czech Cultural & Community Center, was established in 1995 and focuses on the promotion of Czech, Slovakian and European art, culture and history through thousands of art pieces created over the last 2 centuries. The collection consists of paintings, pottery, crystal perfume bottles, dolls, folk art, books, kroje, Bohemian Glass and other artworks.

The museum often organises concerts, Easter Egg hunts, art and dance classes and other such programs to create an interactive experience for visitors. In terms of the architecture, the structure is inspired by 19th century Czech Villas, has stained glass, Bohemian crystal chandeliers, baroque-style ornaments and other accents. It is composed of 3 floors, which include the Prague Hall, Brno Gallery, Pilsen Hall and the Comenius Library, which are used for cultural events and exhibitions. The gift shop on site sells religious items, Czech books, toys, Czech items, mugs and other souvenirs.
