Sunset in summer: Summer in Texas can get notoriously hot with temperatures peaking at 36.7°C. However, the clear skies make for a spectacular view. Usually, the sun sets at 8.00 PM by which time the heat is manageable and the viewing experience is enjoyable.
Sunset in autumn: Autumn is usually marked by rains and sometimes hurricanes. The weather is still relatively warm and you can enjoy the sunset from a restaurant top or walking through a park. You can view the sunset at 7.30 PM.
Sunset in winter: Winters are mild and pleasant in Houston compared to the rest of the US. The sun sets at around 5.30 PM. While it hardly snows in the city, peak winter months can get chilly so you can watch the sunset from a rooftop.
Sunset in spring: Spring is the best season to visit the city and view the sunset. The weather is breezy and enjoyable with temperatures at a moderate 21-26°C. The sun sets between 6.30 PM in early March and 8.00 PM in late May due to the daylight savings time.

The Twilight Epiphany Skyspace located on the Rice University campus is an architectural and artistic marvel. It also serves as a laboratory for Shepherd School of Music. It has two viewing platforms and a LED show right around sunset. The rooftop upper deck offers the sunset and an extraordinary view of the Houston skyline. From the lower deck, you can see the sky through a frame. At twilight, the sunset is a sight to behold with a panorama of vivid colors blanketing the roof.

Timings: Open throughout the day. The sunset light sequence begins 10 minutes before and each show lasts 40 minutes.

3. Miller Outdoor Theatre, Hermann Park

The Miller Theatre is an outdoor theatre offering free performances like jazz, Shakespeare, ballet, and pop concerts from March to November.
