Stretching across 2 km in South Goa, Varca beach is a marvellous white sand beach forming one of the largest continuous shorelines of Goa. An idyllic beach that is known for its tranquillity and soothing landscape, the beach is located far away from the crowded shores of the northern beaches. The gorgeous amalgamation of the white sand turned reddish as it meets the glittering blue waves, due to the presence of few lava rocks. Lined with palm trees and Casuarina trees there is not much vegetation all around except a few shrubs. With a small Christian fishing community nearby, you can definitely find fishing boats lined up in some areas.
For those looking for a bit more of activity instead of lazing on the peaceful beach, a range of water sports such as jet-skiing, speedboat rides and parasailing can be availed by the beach. Dolphin spotting is also another attractive option that tourists of any age group are sure to enjoy. There are a number of shacks by the beach where one can enjoy some mouthwatering Goan cuisine or sip on a refreshing cocktail as they watch the day go by, culminating with a glorious view of the magnificent sunset across the scenic shore.
