Dubai Butterfly Garden, Dubai Overview

Situated at the the Dubai Miracle Garden, the Dubai Butterfly Garden is the world's largest, housing 15 thousand butterflies and around 50 various species of butterflies all bearing different colours, features and shape. With its butterfly Museum, Educational Centre and Cinema, the Dubai Butterfly Garden provides a great opportunity for the visitors to learn more about the advancement of butterflies through each stage making it an ideal place to visit with kids.

Dubai Butterfly Garden is indoor, having over 10 custom built domes. Each of these is filled with a copious amount of these colourful and beautiful winged creatures. These domes are climate controlled with the aim of creating and providing a safe environment for the butterflies to live in, also enabling the garden to be open throughout the year. The famous American white-winged butterfly Anteos Clorinde is one of the commonly found butterflies here.

Butterfly Museum: To know more about the thousands of species of butterflies around the world, the Butterfly Museum is the perfect place to visit. There is deep analysis and information provided at this museum about thousands of these pretty colourful creatures.

Koi Pond: If watching numerous attractive fishes swim by gives one immense joy then the Koi Pond in Dome 2 is the perfect location to stop by for a calming and soothing experience. The running water in the pond has a very relaxing and placating effect on the visitors.
 
Educational Area: This part of the garden focuses on educating the visitor about the lifecycle of the beautiful creatures. Miracle Garden: This stunning flower garden is just beside the Butterfly Garden. Launched in 2013 the Miracle Garden has become the heart of Dubai Land. This signature creation has made it possible for people to spectate around 150 million flowers blooming in the middle of the desert. The Miracle Garden with its magnificent colourful flower arches and patterns alongside the myriad glorious shapes they form has twice won the Guinness World Record.
 
Cinema: At the Cinema one can watch amazing educational and animated movies about the butterfly life cycle. 

Best Time to Visit

Unlike the Miracle Garden that is closed for visitors during the summer season for maintenance, the Butterfly Garden is open all year long. However, the most suitable time of the year to visit the Butterfly Garden at Dubai is during the winters that commence in November and last until March.

Tips

1. It is strictly prohibited to litter or carry any food items and drinks inside the garden.
2. Do not try and touch or catch hold of the butterflies resting on leaves or feeding.
3. Watch the step while strolling through the park to avoid stamping on the butterflies.
4. Even though visitors are allowed to take pictures, it is recommended to do so in the presence of a staff member.
5. The garden has a variety of coffee shops, candy bar and food kiosk serving sandwiches, ice crèmes, candy and fruit juices and coffee.

How To Reach Dubai Butterfly Garden

Board the Redline Dubai Metro and get down at the Mall of Emirates metro station. From there, take an RTA Bus no. 105 that goes to the Dubai Butterfly Garden in around 15 to 20 minutes. The bus ride will cost 5 AED. One can also opt for a taxi or hire a car, as there is ample parking space available.
