One can best enjoy the beauty of this structure with 45 to 60 minutes of guided tours (available in English and Arabic) available for Muslims and non-Muslims.

Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan built this marvel of modern Islamic architecture to remember his father. A key feature worth noticing is the world's largest loomed carpet in one of the prayer halls, which was completed in two years by a total of 1200 artisans. Tips When Visiting Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

1. Anyone can enter: This is one of the few mosques in the world which allows non-muslim guests to enter.

2. Dress appropriately: Women are required to cover their heads via a headscarf. Abaya's are available on hire outside the mosque in case you need to cover up more.

3. Abaya rentals: These rentals are located in the underground parking lot and you will have to keep any form of identification like your driver's license as a deposit when renting. Do note that they will not take passports as deposits.

4. Visit in time: If you visit in the summers or in the afternoon time, the outside areas of the mosque will be almost impossible to walk around as the floor gets very hot.

5. Refreshments: There is a coffee shop near the north gate so you need not fret about finding refreshments or stocking up on them as you can just purchase them from here.
