Eastern Mangroves Promenade, Abu Dhabi Overview

The Eastern Mangroves Promenade is a retail and lifestyle hub, located within the Eastern Mangroves Complex on Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street in Abu Dhabi. The promenade boasts a number of restaurants, health and beauty service outlets, a supermarket, residential locations and several leisure outlets.

With its favourable location in the Abu Dhabi city, the promenade stretches along the city’s protected eastern mangrove district for 1.2 kilometres. The Eastern Mangrove District, about 4.5 square kilometres long, is a unique ecosystem consisting of grey mangroves, along with salt-water plants known as halophytes. These mangroves are the only kind that can survive in the climate conditions unique to the country, and protect coastal areas from erosion. They also provide a place for migratory birds to live and certain fish to breed.

The Eastern Mangroves Promenade, with its stunning views of the Abu Dhabi skyline, is a place to escape from the busy streets of the city. The Eastern Mangroves Promenade is designed with a souk-like ambience, and one can enjoy the views of the picturesque cityscape here.
Note: While the marina is open 24 hours, the reception timings for the Eastern Mangroves Marina are from 08:30 AM to 06:00 PM daily.

Visit the open pedestrian zone for visitors to walk, jog or cycle.
One can spend time pampering themselves at the beauty salons here, such as The Nail Spa, or the Marquee.
The promenade also has its own supermarket, Waitrose Supermarket.
Enjoy the views at the Eastern Mangroves Marina, which can be accessed by both land and sea.
Private and commercial boats can be leased from here, ranging from 6 to 25 metres, for short-term and annual periods.
It also offers marina berthing, mooring assistance and other onshore activities, as well as activities such as kayaking, sailing, stand-up paddleboarding and electric boating.
One can also rent electric powered boats from the Eco Donut Boats, for AED 200 per boat for 30 minutes, AED 300 for an hour and AED 500 for two hours. It is open from 08:00 AM to 10:00 PM from Saturday to Wednesday, and 08:00 AM to 11:00 PM on Thursday and Friday.

The Emirati and International Cultural guides offer a unique educational-entertainment experience providing knowledge about the practice of pearling, and a chance to find and even own a pearl. It costs AED 500 per adult, and AED 400 for those below the age of 12 years. It is open from 09:00 AM to 08:00 PM daily.
One can also visit Sea Hawk, the adventure water sports company, and enjoy scuba diving, kayaking or bird-watching activities. Kayaking costs AED 160 for an adult and AED 130 for a child for 2 hours, while bird watching for one hour costs AED 300 for a boat for 1 to 7 people and AED 500 for a boat for 1 to 10 people. It is open from 07:00 AM to 05:00 PM daily.

The promenade is located conveniently close to the Abu Dhabi International Airport, and can be found on Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street in Abu Dhabi. One can drive by car or take a taxi to reach here.
