Miraj Museum, Abu Dhabi Overview

The Miraj Islamic Centre, located in the capital of the United Arab Emirates, features an exclusive collection of Islamic artworks and masterpieces from around the Muslim world. The museum opened in January 2015, and has a display of historical pieces from places like Egypt, Syria, Russia, India, Iran and Iraq.

The museum aims to allow people to have a better insight into the Islamic culture while promoting and preserving Islamic cultural heritage. The display at the Miraj Museum includes ancient and contemporary artefacts and artworks that tell the stories of the Islamic heritage and culture. These include paintings, sculptures, carpets, ceramics, jewellery, marble pieces, silk textiles, vases among other works of art.

The museum also has staff well-versed in the history and origin of the works displayed to brief the visitors. Often described as a museum-cum-gallery, the Miraj Museum also has a number of pieces for sale.

The museum offers welcome refreshments- Arabic Qahwah (cardamom coffee) and dates, as well as complimentary pick-up and drop-off from their hotels to groups of over 50 guests. The Miraj Museum also has a rooftop café, where one can enjoy traditional Arabic coffee and dates.

Miraj Museum can be found on Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum Street in Abu Dhabi, and is located adjacent to the Hilton Capital Grand Hotel Abu Dhabi. The rooftop café and shop is located in the Marina Village in Abu Dhabi. One can get there by car or taxi.
