Ghantoot Beach, Abu Dhabi Overview

Tourists hoping to get a respite from the heat of Dubai choose to travel along the Sheikh Zayed Road towards Abu Dhabi to access the private beach of Ghantoot. The area is one of the most popular local spots for holding beach parties, yet it remains less crowded ordinarily with only about a handful of people at the beachfront on weekdays. It has turned out to be an open secret of Emiratis and Expat population who are often found heading out of the city to this fantastic beach. Things to Do at Ghantoot Beach

It is the property of the Golden Tulip Hotel with visitors being charged AED 100 for entering the golden sands beside the brilliant blue water body. Tourists have loads of fun playing volleyball on the stretch of sand while many of them are eager to try out their culinary skills by opting to set up a barbecue. The hotel also runs the adjoining water sports club where the visitors take part in several exciting activities including riding banana boats, water skiing and wakeboarding. One does not have to swim in the Gulf, though. The hotel has several swimming pools to practice their strokes while the bars and cafes within the property are favoured by the International tourists as well.

Tips

Visitors are not encouraged to wear bikinis or thongs. Full swimsuits are favoured instead.
Smoking is not permitted in public. However, exceptions are made within the club premises.
It is important to heed warning signals and not venture out into the sea when the weather turns ugly

How To Reach Ghantoot Beach

The beach can be accessed by taking the Sheikh Zayed Road leading to Abu Dhabi and leaving the road at Exit No. 399. Hiring a taxi or private vehicle is the only way to reach the location. The entire route is displayed via signs with the beach gate being prominently visible. The beach can also be accessed via the inland canal from the bay leading to three different mooring spots.
