Attractions Near the Mall Road

The Mall Road allows you to submerge yourself in the beauty of these majestic hills. However, if you are still not content, and want more; then these places are a good option for you:

1. Scandal Point: The Mall Road meets Ridge Road on the west side at this point. A statue of the great freedom fighter, Lala Lajpat Rai is erected here. Next to the scandal point is the General Post office of Shimla. It would be interesting to know how the place got its name. The Maharaja of Patiala eloped with the daughter of a British Viceroy from here, which caused much commotion and thus, the area began to be called "Scandal Point".
2. Gaiety Theatre: Multiple famous film personalities have performed here. Even though this theatre has now been renovated, the original structure has been left untouched to preserve the heritage and natural beauty of this place.
3. Kali Bari Temple: A wooden image of goddess Kali, to whom this temple is dedicated, is worshipped here. Visit this temple for a dose of spirituality and religion.
4. Town Hall: This architectural marvel, which dates back to the colonial period; adds to the beauty of the surrounding architectural remains of the pre-independence era and is a must- visit place for all admirers of skill and structural design.

An added advantage of the Mall Road's central location in Shimla is that it is easily accessible from all parts of the city. Shimla is called the Queen of Hills and I couldn't agree more with this title. 2 years ago, I went there on my school trip and it still seems like yesterday only. The best part was the Mall Road. The aura and the vibes that the place has left me awestruck. I experienced inner peace and witnessed beauty in its purest form. The best time to visit is evening since one gets to see the sunset which looks beautiful from up there. If you?re planning to visit Shimla, then do visit it once and do not forget to carry water bottles with you.

Pretty cool area to just walk, shop, eat and chill. The views are nice and there is this obvious colonial feel all over. The restaurants and the cafes are nice. There's lot of local crowd as well as tourists. If you don't want to walk uphill, you can take the lift to reach here for 10 bucks. Do go to the point till Ridge.
