Oura Church, Nagasaki Overview
The oldest surviving church in Japan, built in 1864 for foreign residents, and a National Treasure. Weeks after it opened a group of villagers approached a priest here and revealed that their families had kept the faith in secret for seven generations. The 1,000 yen ticket includes the Christian Museum next door; it is not a separate charge, whatever some guides say.
