Nagasaki Peace Park, Nagasaki Overview
A hilltop park north of the centre, built where a prison stood until 9 August 1945. At its head sits Kitamura Seibo's 9.7 metre Peace Statue, one hand raised towards the sky the bomb came from and the other held level to signal peace. It is free and open. Note the city calls two separate sites Peace Park, so this is the one with the statue rather than the hypocentre.
