Glover Garden, Nagasaki Overview
Nine Meiji-era Western houses gathered on a hillside above the harbour, including the 1863 home of Thomas Glover, the Scottish merchant who armed the men who overthrew the shogunate. Moving walkways carry you up the slope. Check your budget before you go: admission more than doubled to 1,300 yen on 1 April 2026, and almost every guide still prints 620.
