Melaka Butterfly and Reptile Sanctuary, Melaka Overview

Melaka Butterfly and Reptile Sanctuary, or as locally known as Taman Rama-Rama dan Reptilia Malacca, is an 11 acre butterfly and reptile sanctuary and zoo in Ayer Keroh, Melaka. Earlier known as the ‘The Butterfly Park Melaka’, it is one of the most famous natural attractions in the city.

The Melaka Butterfly and Reptile Sanctuary is divided into four sections - Larva Center, Pupa House, Tarantula Adventure and Bugs Kingdom, each of these housing different type of species, like butterflies, reptiles, insects, koi fish, etc. The sanctuary is also the home to the two rare golden leopards and almost instinct Raja Brooke which is the national butterfly of Malaysia.

The Melaka Butterfly and Reptile Sanctuary is at a distance of 40 minutes drive from the main city of Melaka. One can rent a car or hire a taxi, as they are readily available. The route to the Sanctuary is clearly marked and is an easy one.
