Utsukushigahara Highland, Matsumoto Overview
A grass plateau at about 2,000 metres east of the city where cattle graze in summer and the view runs to the Japanese Alps in one direction and Mount Fuji in the other on a clear day. Spread across it is a large open-air sculpture museum. The access road closes under snow, so this is roughly late April to mid November only.
