Nawate Street, Matsumoto Overview
A narrow pedestrian lane along the Metoba river lined with tiny shopfronts, antique stalls and several hundred frog statues, the frogs being a pun on the river and a reminder of when it was full of them. Where Nakamachi is polished and for shopping, this one is scruffier and for snacking, and it ends at Yohashira Shrine.
