Daio Wasabi Farm, Matsumoto Overview
The largest wasabi farm in Japan, where spring water from the Alps runs in shallow gravel beds over 15 hectares, with the three wooden water wheels Kurosawa filmed for Dreams standing in the stream. Entry is free and there is wasabi ice cream at the end. Note it is in Azumino, not Matsumoto: a train to Hotaka and then a 30 minute walk or a short taxi.
