Ithaa is an underwater restaurant located 5 meters beneath the sea level at Conrad Maldives, Rangali Island of Alif Dhaal Atoll. It is an acrylic structure, capable of holding 14 persons at a time. The glass rooftop offers a panaromic view of the brilliant coral gardens making it one of the most beautiful restaurants across the world.

Ithaa Undersea Restaurant is famous for serving European food with Asian influence and has undergone no damages due to the tsunami that hit the region in 2004. Apart from being a dining destination par excellence, it is also one of the most popular venues of Maldives for holding private parties and celebratory events such as weddings and anniversaries.

The cuisine at Ithaa is basically European with distinct Asain influences. The restaurant is open for both lunch and dinner with mid morning cocktails being served here along wtih champagne as well. Concept of Ithaa

This underground hotel is a part of the luxurious Conrad Maldives Rangali Island resort that is spread over two private islands. The coral reef and white, sand beach happen to be the main attraction here apart from viewing the eciting underwater life through the glass walls and ceilings.

While the initial plan had been to construct straight glass walls and windows, the final design favored the use of R-Cast acrylic tunnel similar to the world’s largest aquarium tunnel at Kula Lumpur. The visitors to the restaurant are also elated to find a couple of Manta Rays peeking inside the restaurant that is frequently visited by Whale sharks and a host of colorful fish swimming past its walls.

How To Reach Ithaa Undersea Restaurant

Boats are not usually available for reaching the island but the tourists are welcome to board a seaplane in order to land on Maldives Rangali Island and then walk down to the restaurant.
