Palisades Park, Los Angeles Overview

Palisades Park is amongst the most scenic parks in the Santa Monica area. Located along the famous Ocean Avenue, this 26.4-acre park extends from the Santa Monica Pier. It is a beautiful park with magnificent views of both the Pacific Ocean and the coastal mountains. It is home to a variety of trees such as palm, pine and fig trees.

The park is a perfect place for families and tourists alike. It is a great space to have picnics, thanks to its lush lawns, benches and restrooms spread across the park. The park also has access to multiple parking spots across its length, making it convenient for visiting guests.

Apart from the beautiful view of the Santa Monica Bay, visitors will also come across the Santa Monica statue. It is a statue of Saint Monica, after whom the city is named. This concrete work of art was installed in 1934 by Eugene Morahan. Another historic place to visit in this park is the Santa Monica Camera Obscura, which is now a community art centre. Other sights in this park include a totem pole belonging to the Native Americans, the Beacon Overlook and the rose garden.
