Kepong Metropolitan Park, Kuala Lumpur Overview

Widely scattered across an area of 95 hectares, Kepong Metropolitan Park is one of the largest recreational parks in Malaysia. Located at the north end of Jinjang in Kuala Lumpur, Kepong Metropolitan Park is a preferred spot amongst the kite hobbyists as a huge area in the park is specifically dedicated to kite-flying.

This beautifully constructed park houses a gleaming man-made lake that occupies an area of 57 hectares and provides the visitors a chance to enjoy fishing and a boat ride. Surrounded by cycling and walking tracks, this lake also has a lotus pond and a children's playground around it. Another speciality of this park is that it is exclusively favoured by the picnickers due to its lush greenery and relaxing ambience. Kepong Metropolitan Park also houses a remote control car track, a football field, a viewing tower, a boathouse, and a pavilion.

How to Reach Kepong Metropolitan Park

  • Car/Taxi: The park can be reached via Jln Kuching and Jalan Lingkaran Tengah 2. Alternatively, drive along the MRR2 highway because Kepong exit on the highway is located next to the park.
  • Bus: Board bus no.T229 and get down at Petronas Taman Kepong. Also, bus no. 100, 107, 801, 120 passes through Kepong Metropolitan Park.
  • Train: The nearest station is Kepong Sentral station(KA07). Board a train from Kuala Lumpur and reach Kepong Sentral station within 16 minutes.
