Wat Khunaram, on Route 4169 west of Hua Thanon, is known island-wide for its mummified monk. The body belongs to Luang Pordaeng, a former abbot who died in 1973 and reportedly predicted the date of his own death; it sits upright in a glass case, still dressed in orange robes, with sunglasses added by devotees to cover the decayed eyes. It can be an unusual sight for first-time visitors, but it's one of the most talked-about temples on the island.
