Nankinmachi Chinatown, Kobe Overview
Kobe's Chinatown dates to the port opening in 1868 and is the Kansai region's Chinese community centre, though it is small: three gates and two streets meeting at a pavilion. Treat it as street food rather than a sit-down meal, and order the buta-man steamed buns. Forty-five minutes covers it. Many restaurants shut between three and five.
