Disaster Reduction and Human Renovation Institution, Kobe Overview
The museum of the 1995 earthquake that killed 6,434 people in this city, built in 2002 around a large-screen reconstruction of the shaking itself and a documentary on what came after. Six hundred yen, and it closes on Mondays. It is out at HAT Kobe rather than in the centre, which is the mistake people make: the memorial quay in Meriken Park is a different place.
