Nunobiki Herb Gardens, Kobe Overview
Japan's largest herb garden, spread down the slope above Shin-Kobe and reached by a ten-minute ropeway that doubles as the easiest good view in the city. Two thousand yen return. The timing catches people out: on weekdays the last ride up is quarter to five, but at weekends from late March to November it runs until eight, which is when the night view works.
