Tranquility Park, Houston Overview

Famously renowned as the Sea of Tranquility, Tranquility Park is situated adjacent to the City Hall in downtown Houston. The park features grassy embankment, pools, water fountains, and walkways.

The park was built to celebrate the first landing on the moon by Apollo 11 mission in 1969. This park is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of downtown Houston.

Every year, the park hosts various events annually, such as the Children’s Houston International Festival, and many others. The waterways, the depressions that act like craters in the lunar surface, stainless steel cylinder representing that of Apollo’s rocket boosters, make it an amazing place to explore while visiting the park. Along with this, there are plenty of art shows and other events that are annually hosted in the park.
