Mercer Botanic Gardens, Houston Overview

Named after the Mercer family who purchased the property as their home and gardens, the Mercer Botanic gardens have an arboretum and a variety of preserved native trees and plants like dogwoods, hawthorns, and palmettos and some exotic tree species like the camellias, ginkgo, camphor, etc.

With a stretch of 325 acres, the garden has an Azalea trail, Bamboo Garden, Herb Garden, endangered Species garden, a Rock Garden, a Tropical garden, playground, picnic tables, a pond, and a gift shop.
