Central and Western Heritage Trail

Central and Western Heritage Trail, Hong Kong Overview

The Central and Western Heritage Trail, is an historic walk through some of the prominent landmarks in the city. Introduced in October of 1997, this path courses through 3 sections; the Central route, the the Shueng Wan Route and the Western District and the Peak Route.

The Central district hosts an abundance of European architecture due to the heavy British-colonial impact on the region. Launched by the Antiquities and Monument Office of the regional Leisure and Cultural Services Department, this Heritage Trail includes around 40 ancient buildings and sites which have been destroyed over the years.
