History

The Avenue of Stars at Hong Kong was established in 2004 by the New World Group in collaboration with the Hong Kong Government, Leisure and Culture Services Department, the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the Hong Kong Film Awards Association, and the Tourism Commission. This privately financed project was then officially declared as public property.

After a temporary period of closure for the sake of renovation purposes, the Avenue of Stars was grandly reopened in 2019. In addition, the sustainability of this wonder has been increased through the use of recycled materials for the creation of structures such as pavements, and renewable electricity generation through the placement of solar panels and wave generators.
