Masjid Jabal Arafah, Batam Overview

Jabal Arafah Mosque in Batam’s business center Lubuk Baja has become one of the island’s favorite spots. You can see the blue sky through the holes in its concrete dome from the second, third, and fourth floors. There are also binoculars to see scenic vistas of the Batam horizon and panoramas of the Singapore and Malaysia skylines. You may even spot merchant ships ferrying in the Singapore Strait.

Sprawling over 4,607 sq.m., the mosque premises are dotted with plantations and decorative koi ponds which make the place Instagrammable. On the first floor of the mosque, there is a cafe called Teh Tarek Sultan which serves a special Indonesian tea, Teh Tarik, made of black tea and condensed milk along with finger snacks. You may also try out Tarek teas of other varieties such as Penang, date, Persian, honey, Pandan, black seed, and basil seed. The floor also has a cloak/storage room, a fish pond, a souvenir shop, toilets and ablution stalls, and a multipurpose room. Next to the management office is an MJA MiniMart outlet.
