Gelgel, Bali Overview

A few minutes south of Semarapura lies the village of Gelgel, notable for its indigenous Songket fabric and Kamasan paintings. A piece of handwoven Songket takes 3-4 days to finish after embroidering the various flora and fauna motifs, while the proximity to Kamasan influenced their painting style. Nearby attractions include Goa Lawah temple and the Puputan Klungklung monument.
