Known to be the southernmost island of the Andaman group of Islands, South Andaman Island is also the most populated and most commercially viable island in the cluster. Known to be the third largest island in the cluster, South Andaman Island is situated between Middle Island and Baratang from which it is separated by a narrow strip of land.
