Kerala has claimed the 18th spot on the top 20 global trending destinations for 2020. Known for its majestic beauty, it definitely deserves the acclaimed spot. It is a preferred travel destination for both domestic and foreign travelers due to its diversity and natural surroundings.

Survey 

The inference was drawn from a survey by Airbnb, an online marketplace that offers stays and experiences. The survey included places like the USA, Spain, Thailand, and Australia and others that are eco-conscious destinations. It also consisted of places such as Milwaukee in the USA and Guadalajara in Mexico which are cultural hotspots. 

Airbnb's survey revealed that Kerala tourism has increased majorly this year. There has been a 95 per cent jump in 2019's travel bookings. Other than bearing some of the most eco-friendly destinations in India, Kerala also promotes a responsible tourist program. 

Responsible Tourist Program

The responsible tourist program motivates tourists to travel and explore the culture as well as be hostile to the state and its resources. It stimulates environmental and resource conservation. It also boosts tourism as inferences suggest that tourists prefer eco-conscious destinations over others.
