Sharjah Desert Park, Sharjah Overview

Covering a vast area, the Sharjah Desert Park is an edutainment zone comprising of three sections namely: the Natural History Museum, Arabian Wildlife Centre and the Children's Farm. It helps its visitors to get a better understanding of the flora and fauna of U.A.E as well as scientific explanation of natural processes in the most fun way possible. Situated 28 km from Sharjah on the road to Al Dhaid, this amazing museum is a must-visit, especially for the nature lovers.

Arabian Wildlife Centre

It is the only 'zoo' in the UAE where all the Arabian wildlife are in their natural habitats. Used as a wildlife refuge centre, this centre was created to raise awareness on desert flora and fauna that have or are soon to be extinct.

Sharjah Natural History Museum & Botanical Museum

The museum holds the opportunity for people of all ages to learn about Arabian Desert's flora and fauna through its five major exhibition halls:

Discover Sharjah: This hall shows the various habitats that were existing from the East Coast to the West Coast of Sharjah.
A Walk Through Time: Learn the story of how this magnificent Earth and life came to be in an exciting portrayal of how time came to be all the way back to the Big Bang Theory in exciting audiovisual experiences.
Beautiful Arabian Flora: Explore the beautiful gardens that exhibit Arabian plants.
The Living World: Go back all the way to the microorganisms as you learn the benefits of them.
Underwater World: Uncover the bottom of the sea with the exact replicas of some of the water's most beautiful creatures.

Botanical Museum

With interactive displays and amazing audiovisual experiences, learn the importance of plants and trees to the world. A perfect place to visit for families as this is an educational visit.

Islamic Botanical Garden

Unlike any other botanical garden in the world, this garden houses plants that were mentioned in the Holy Quran and the Al-Sunnah.

With a total of 52 plants, one can find figs, pomegranates, basil, henna, Katam and more. Visit this garden for an experience unlike any other.

Children's Farm

This farm raises awareness of Arabian wildlife with direct interaction with the animals and birds. Divided into indoor and outdoor areas, visitors are allowed to openly interact with the animals under the supervision of a guide.

Outdoor area:

Camels, donkeys, Arabian horse, cows and more. They even have poultry like chickens, Mallard, Muscovy Ducks and more.
Children can play and feed animals like horses and ponies.
