Also known by the name St. Philip the Apostle Russian Orthodox Church, this church is the largest in the United Arab Emirates. The church has an area of 1,800 square metres (19,000 sq ft) which can fit about 20,000 church members. The planning for the construction of the Russian Orthodox Church began in the year 2005, and it was completed and opened to the public on August 13, 2011. The church is open to the public only on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Saint Gregory, the Illuminator Cathedral, is also known by the name Yerevan Cathedral. This church is the largest Armenian Apostolic Church, the national church of Armenians, in the world. This vast church compromises of three churches; the Cathedral (Main Church) with 1700 seats and the Chapels of St. Tiridates the King and of Saint Ashkhen the Queen (both with 150 seats). Catholicos Vazgen supervised the construction of this church, which was started in the year 1997. However, the church was completed and opened to the public in the year 2001.

The Church of South India (CSI) is the largest uniting church in the whole world. There are a total of eight parishes in Tamil Nadu, six in Andhra Pradesh, four in Kerala, three in Karnataka, and one in Sri Lanka. The CSI Tamil Church in Sharjah in the mother church of all the Tamil churches in UAE. The worship services and other programmes in this church are conducted in Tamil.

The St Mary’s Jacobite Syrian Cathedral is one of the oldest churches in Sharjah. The church was established around the 1980s. Apart from regular services, this church also involves teaching the school kids during Sundays. Today, the St. Mary’s Church has become an example of harmony, peace and valuable Christian teachings for its followers.

5. St. Martin’s Anglican Church

St. Martin’s Anglican Church

St. Martin’s Anglican Church follows the Anglican Diocese of Cyprus and the Gulf, under the leadership of Bishop Michael Lewis. In the UAE, the church partakes in the Chaplaincy of Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates. St. Martin’s Anglican Church runs various ministries, where each ministry concentrates on a particular group of people; women, teens, and children or a matter of importance (sports, activities, fellowships).
